Winnicott
Winnicott has been decorated with one of Toyland’s most prestigious awards, a medal for service to his owner for providing unyielding snuggles, love and understanding. Well done Winnicott!
In this post I pay tribute to Dr Donald Winnicott who wrote
a paper in the early 1960’s about the importance of toys in childhood. He
acknowledged that, by talking to their toys and confiding in them there deepest
worries and fears along with their greatest wishes, they were taking their
first steps into helping them learn how to look at themselves. A very useful
tool to develop into adulthood!
You will find someone else has paid tribute to Dr Winnicott
with a cuddly toy called Donald, Winnicott is my tribute.
